Inspired by the Scottish tradition of meeting researchers from all over Scotland before going to #chi2019, we decided to start this tradition in Germany and bring the German HCI community & friends closer together. Join us in Oldenburg on 11-12 April 2019 for the first German Pre-CHI Event.

The idea of a German Pre-CHI Event is to provide an opportunity for German researchers to present their accepted CHI papers and discuss them in a smaller circle. The event provides a great opportunity for younger researchers to get a taste of the quality of work presented at CHI and network with senior researchers. Therefore, everyone from students to professors interested in HCI are welcome to meet and join this interactive event in Oldenburg.

The event is taking place over two days, which will include paper talks, coffee breaks with demos and poster presentations, and a social event on the first day. Please check our website for more information. Participation is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs are self-paid. If you would like to participate either as a presenter, or as an attendee, please fill in the form provided on the website before the 15th of March.

Best regards,

Susanne Boll, University of Oldenburg
Andrii Matviienko, OFFIS Institute for Information Technology
